Connection with UNESCO and the UNESCO-UNEVOC

SZPU has had a proven track record of collaboration with UNESCO and The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training:

  • Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU), referred to as Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) before June 2023, has been one of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Centers since 2006.

  • SZPU engaged in the UNEVOC i-hubs Project (October 2018 - March 2020) and submitted an innovation practice to UNEVOC in 2020.

  • SZPU signed a cooperation agreement with UNESCO-ICHEI in 2019 and contributed 9 online courses to the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE), which is ICHEI's flagship project.

  • SZPU has submitted a promising practice on "Huawei Certification to ICT Programmes" to the UNEVOC BILT Project in 2021.

  • In 2021, SZPU attended UNESCO China Funds-in-Trust Phase III—Higher Technical Education in Africa for a Technical and Innovative Workforce.

  • In 2022, SZPU engaged in the UNEVOC Network Coaction Initiative on Greening TVET as one of the participating institutions, which is led by the UNEVOC Centre at the Education University of Hong Kong and in partnership with 4 other UNEVOC Centres in Mongolia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and China.

  • In 2022, SZPU engaged in the “BILT Project: NQC (New Qualifications and Competences) Self-Reflection Tool” project, and contributed to the co-development of the self-reflection tools and processes.

  • In 2022, SZPU established the UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET as approved by UNESCO Headquarters, committed to engaging in research, practice and promotion of Digital Transformation in TVET worldwide.

  • In 2023, SZPU led and implemented the “UNESCO-UNEVOC Network Coaction Initiative 2023: Capacity Building on Digital Transformation in TVET” as the lead institution, in partnership with other 6 UNEVOC Centres in Asia.

  • In 2024, SZPU engaged in the “BILT Joint Project: Multiplier phase of the BILT Self-Reflection Tool and associated methodology” as the coach institution for the Asian-Pacific region.
