Course Introduction: AR technology

  • General Overview: An introductory course designed to popularize Augmented Reality (AR) technology, accessible to all educators and students with no prior knowledge required.

  • Objective: To equip learners with foundational knowledge of AR, acquaint them with various AR devices and methods of implementation, and enable them to create simple AR applications for educational purposes.

  • Course Duration and Structure

    • Week 1: Introduction to AR - An overview of AR technology and its basic concepts.

    • Week 2: Fundamentals of AR Technology - Understanding the technical aspects necessary for AR presentation.

    • Week 3: Basics of AR Development - Learning operations in Unity3D to lay a solid foundation for AR development.

    • Week 4: AR Development Case Studies - Mastery of AR development techniques through the introduction of the Vuforia engine.

  • Week 5: AR in Education - Exploring methods and models for applying AR in teaching.

  • Certification Alignment: The course content aligns with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Education and Examination Center's "AR Developer Engineer" entry-level training, with plans to launch a series of courses for advanced learning.

Lecturer Bio: Chen Ruihao (Senior Computer Laboratory Instructor, Office of Educational Information Technology, Shenzhen Polytechnic University)

  • Academic Background: Master of Software Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, Senior Computer Laboratory Instructor at the Educational Information Center of Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU)

  • Research Focus: Specializes in online education and virtual reality technologies.

  • Professional Contributions:

    • Led the development of the "AR Developer Engineer" vocational training project for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Education and Examination Center.

    • Directed the "AR Resource Development and Instructional Applications" national training project for three consecutive years, delivering training sessions at multiple institutions.

  • Awards and Honors: Led a project that won the first prize for Outstanding Research Achievements in Education and Teaching in Shenzhen's 4th edition, and has been a key member in projects winning four first prizes for teaching achievements in Guangdong Province.
