Leaders and guests unveiled the Shi Peng Academician Workstation
On July 12, the unveiling ceremony of Shi Peng Academician Workstation was held at Conference Room 114, Mingde Building, Liuxiandong Campus. Shi Peng, Academician of Academia Europaea, Su Hongye, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Industrial Control Technology of Zhejiang University & Dean of the Institute of Intelligent Science and Engineering of Shenzhen Polytechnic, Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen Polytechnic, and Xu Jianling, President of Shenzhen Polytechnic attended the ceremony. Experts, scholars and heads of relevant departments participated in the activity by online and offline means.
Xu Jianling said in his speech that Academician Shi has been engaged in system and control theory, computer intelligence and operations research for a long time, and he is an internationally renowned expert in the field of control science and engineering. In particular, his work in system state estimation & control and system robustness analysis has been recognized and appreciated by international peers. The establishment of Shi Peng Academician Workstation is a landmark achievement of deep cooperation between Shenzhen Polytechnic and Academician Shi Peng’s team, and also an important measure for SZPT to introduce high-end scientific research teams, carry out cutting-edge technological breakthroughs, improve the faculty level, and train high-quality technical and skilled talents, which is of great significance for SZPT to improve the level of scientific research innovation and social service capability, and enhance the vocational education talent training system to train artisans and skilled craftsmen for China as a great power. SZPT will fully implement the major strategic deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the spirit of the talent work conference by offering great support to the academician workstation in respect of talent introduction and scientific research funding, and giving full play to the main role of the academician workstation in talent gathering, team training and technological breakthroughs to promote the high-quality development of SZPT, and thus better serve the economic construction of Shenzhen and the innovative development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Academician Shi Peng, who participated in the ceremony remotely, said that Shenzhen Polytechnic is a distinctive school with strong faculty and outstanding achievements in teaching and research. Over the past decade, he has maintained close cooperation with the scientific research team led by Professor Su Hongye, and made abundant scientific research achievements. It is hoped that in the future cooperation, the resource advantages and scientific research accumulation of Shenzhen Polytechnic will be combined to help SZPT improve its academic and professional influence in the field of control science and engineering, and in particular, put active efforts in key project undertaking, control theory research, applied technology development, and high-end talent training, provide a powerful engine for the development of disciplines through academic exchanges, and contribute to the digital, networked and intelligent development of the manufacturing industry in Shenzhen.
President Su Hongye delivered a speech
Su Hongye first expressed thanks to the leaders who have long given attention and support to the development and construction of the Institute of Intelligent Science and Engineering. He said that after several years of development, the institute has begun to take shape, with its scientific research strength improving steadily. The scientific research team led by him has maintained years of cooperation with Academician Shi for research in the fields of networked control system, neural network system, multi-agent, etc., and the related research results won the first prize of natural science in Zhejiang Province in 2021. In the future, the team will cooperate with Academician Shi to carry out theoretical research in the field of network security and control, and apply it to UAV logistics control systems, gradually improve the high-level talent training ability and scientific research ability of the institute, and strive for internationally leading landmark achievements.
Finally, the leaders and guests jointly unveiled the workstation. After the establishment of the workstation, the basic research ability of SZPT in the field of control science and the key core technologies such as neural network system and collaborative control will be reinforced, which will play an important role in promoting the independent innovation and application research & development capacity, the construction of high-level laboratories, the training of interdisciplinary talents, and the deep integration of industry, university and research, and contribute to the research & development and industrialization of the new generation of information technology and advanced manufacturing technology in Shenzhen.
