The inauguration ceremony of the Research Center for Rule of Law in Finance and Taxation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held at the Party Building Pavilion in the library of the Liuxiandong Campus.
On December 19, the inauguration ceremony of the Research Center for Rule of Law in Finance and Taxation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (the Research Center) was held at the Party Building Pavilion in the library of the Liuxiandong Campus. The ceremony was attended by Yin Changlong, Director of the Culture and History Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, Expert Member of the Shenzhen Decision-making Advisory Committee and president of the Shenzhen Reading Association; Tian Hongchang, President and Legal Representative of the Shenzhen Institute of Financial Stability and Development; Professor Zhang Weidong, Former Dean and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Accountancy of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics; Mao Shaoying, Academic Director of the Shenzhen Research Center of Special Zone Culture; Li Zhuoying, Vice President of the Benchmark Chambers International & Benchmark International Mediation Center and Vice President of Lan Hai Institute; and Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen Polytechnic. The meeting was hosted by Wang Ying, Dean of the School of Economics.
Yin Changlong pointed out that building and developing a new type of university think tank with Chinese characteristics is not only an important measure to implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, but also a concrete manifestation to serve the construction of national governance system and socio-economic development. As an important part of the new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics, university think tanks play an important role in the modernization process of national governance system and governance capacity. If we want to build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a dynamic world-class city cluster, an international science and technology innovation center, a strong point for the construction of Belt and Road Initiative, and a demonstration area for in-depth cooperation between the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao, we need to bring into play the important functions of the Research Center in "political advice, theoretical innovation, public opinion guidance, social services, and public diplomacy", etc.
Yang Xinbin said that it is of strong practical and theoretical significance to systematically study the rule of law in finance and taxation and and other related issues in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He added that the Research Center will integrate talents from finance, taxation, law, and other disciplines, focus on financial reform, finance, and tax policy research, and promote the formation of the rule of law in finance and taxation. In addition, it will strengthen the function of advising consulting services, build an innovation system integrating industries, universities, and research institutes, and always serve the CPC, the country, and the economic and social development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
As a new type of think tank with characteristics of general universities approved by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, the Research Center is committed to becoming a first-class think tank with characteristics of big data resources, theoretical research, and policy consultation with important influence in China, providing strong intellectual support and decision-making basis for the CPC and State, the CPC Guangdong Committee and Government of Guangdong Province, and promoting the economic development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
