Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation, together with Standardization Administration, has published the international standards formulated under the leadership of China issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2020, which include two international standards co-formulated by Shenzhen Polytechnic, namely, ISO 22549-1 (short for Automation systems and integration — Assessment on convergence of informatization and industrialization for industrial enterprises — Part 1: Framework and reference model) and ISO 15746-3 (short for Automation systems and integration — Integration of advanced process control and optimization capabilities for manufacturing systems — Part 3: Verification and validation). They are the only two international standards of the ISO Technical Committee for Automation Systems and Integration formulated under the leadership of China in 2020 and Associate Professor Lu Shan from the Institute of Intelligence Science and Engineering of Shenzhen Polytechnic is a major drafter of the standards. Through the release of ISO 22549-1, the first set of standards for the convergence of informatization and industrialization formulated by China have completely become international standards. It is a positive attempt to share China's manufacturing experience with the world and has set up an important milestone in the standardization work for the convergence of informatization and industrialization.
According to the Made in China 2025 Plan, the convergence of informatization and industrialization is a vantage point for accelerating the process of building China into a manufacturing power. While vigorously promoting the formulation, publicity, and implementation of the standards for the convergence of informatization and industrialization, in order to improve the international influence of the integration of informatization and industrialization, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as well as the Standardization Administration and relying on China National Technical Committee for Automation Systems and Integration Standardization, the project research team proposed the international standards for the convergence of informatization and industrialization to ISO, which were jointly formulated by a total of 22 expert members from eight countries and were finally published after more than 10 ISO working group meetings and six rounds of voting during the past six years.
It is reported that ISO 22549 is based on China's national standards for the convergence of informatization and industrialization as well as China's manufacturing experience and wisdom and is modified and adapted according to the needs of international promotion. It defines the assessment process, assessment framework, reference model, and specific assessment content applicable to the convergence of informatization and industrialization in various countries and provides guidance for the accelerated digital transformation and optimization process of industrial manufacturers in various countries. China has set up a service platform for the convergence of informatization and industrialization under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and more than 30,000 manufacturing enterprises have participated in the certification of the convergence of informatization and industrialization under China's national standards.
The team of the Institute of Intelligence Science and Engineering has carried out long-term frontier research, accumulation, and application development in the field of manufacturing informatization and intelligence. As an expert member of the ISO Technical Committee for Automation Systems and Integration (ISO TC184), Lu Shan has carried out relevant international standard formulation work and participated in the drafting and formulation of multiple international and national standards in the field of informatization and automation of manufacturing enterprises since 2014. The formulation of these two international standards was strongly supported by the school and served as an important achievement of the school's promotion of high-level cooperation of enterprises, universities, and research institutes, and was funded by major projects of intelligent manufacturing of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, national key research and development programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China and others alike. The research team will continue to do a good job in the revision and implementation of relevant international and national standards to make more contributions to the digitization development of regional enterprises and the promotion of informatization of manufacturing enterprises.
