Students from School of Electronic and Communication Engineering Won the First Prize in Provincial Information Security Management and Evaluation

On February 26, the Information Security Management and Evaluation Competition of Professional Skills Competition for Vocational College Students in Guangdong Province, host by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, and organized by the Guangdong Communication Polytechnic, was held in Qingyuan. A total of 48 teams from higher vocational colleges in Guangdong Province participated in the competition. The team composed of Huang Tao, Cai Zhanhui and Xiao Xuanzi from the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering, under the guidance of teachers Qi Kun and Wei Kai, won the first prize (the third place) in the competition. The information security management and evaluation competition was among teams of three members, who were required to complete the tasks of network platform construction, network security equipment configuration and protection, system security attack and defense, operation and maintenance security control and other modules within the specified time, focusing on their technical skills in network construction, security architecture and network security operation and maintenance control, as well as their professional qualities of teamwork and communication skills. Faced with the severe epidemic situation, the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering made thorough arrangements for participation in the competition according to the relevant requirements of Shenzhen Polytechnic. The participants arrived at Qingyuan in advance, actively cooperated with self-isolation, nucleic acid testing and other epidemic prevention measures taken by the organizer, overcame all kinds of difficulties and successfully completed their task in the competition.
