The Transportation Major of School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering Won the First Prize in Guangdong Smart Network Technology and Application Skills Competition

On May 15, due to the COVID-19, the 2021-2022 Guangdong Smart Network Technology and Application Skills Competition sponsored by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province and organized by the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology was held online, and a total of 28 teams participated in the competition. Led by the teacher Liang Bodong from the Transportation major of the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering and guided by the teachers Zeng Ziming and Zhu Hongmei, the team of Wu Shaotao, Fu Zenglin and Lin Huifeng won the first prize in this competition for three consecutive years!

The online competition had technical support from Inwinic Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Beijing Baidu Netcom Technology Co., Ltd. The technical platform is ADS, an autonomous driving simulation system, and PaddlePaddle, an open source deep learning platform of Baidu. The competition includes traffic road scene data processing, artificial intelligence data training and verification, high-precision map drawing and production, and digital twin road scene verification. The competition follows the development of enterprises in the artificial intelligence industry, aiming at the current deep learning trend and using the latest technical skills standards. In order to meet the professional demand for high-quality skilled talents in the AI industry, the competition centers on the application of AI in the smart network connection, and mainly examines students’ expertise, teamwork spirit, and ability to solve practical problems, which stimulates their interest in AI technology and improves their professional quality and skills.
