On May 14, the Chinese Information Processing Competition of the 2021-2022 Professional Skills Competition for Vocational College Students in Guangdong Province was successfully concluded. The two teams from the major of Legal Affairs in the School of Economics won the first and second places of the first prize. Their total score was 70 points higher than the team from another college that won the third place, marking a successful completion of their task in the Chinese Information Processing Competition.

As one of its important events in 2022, the major of Legal Affairs established a training mechanism of competition echelon in the warm-up stage of preparation for the competition, and selected six best students to participate in the provincial competition, who accepted training throughout the whole semester. However, the outbreak at the beginning of the year disrupted the training deployment of the competition team, and the contestants could not return to school for sprint training as originally planned; they headed for Guangzhou in advance to prepare for the competition, but due to the change of local epidemic prevention and control requirements, the competition was moved to the online form.

Noting the difficulties faced by the competition team, the School of Economics mobilized all departments to provide full support for the normal participation of the contestants, and coordinated with various parties to ensure that the contestants could appear on schedule. Among them, the Office of the School of Economics and the Office of Student Affairs served as coordinators to ensure the orderly access of students and teachers while meeting SZPT’s regular epidemic prevention requirements; in order to ensure as much as possible the training saturation of the contestants, the training room handled the borrowing and releasing procedures of participating equipment in advance; and instructors Xia Linhua, Lu Songxin and Li Yue, who could not follow the students due to the epidemic, prepared a variety of fruits and snacks for the students. During the closed period in Guangzhou, the contestants brought a full set of competition tools at the request of their instructor Sun Ting, and carried out saturated training without missing online classes. As an instructor with years of experience in preparing for the competition, Sun Ting made the competition task accurate to minute, used the recording machine to repeatedly simulate the competition action, and constantly made adjustments according to the performance of the students, thus forming a more suitable task target for each team before the competition.

On the day of the competition, thanks to the proper early deployment, the two teams from the major of Legal Affairs successfully passed the registration. According to the competition arrangement of the host college, the participating teachers and students took separate actions to find out the rules and equipment by means of pre-match tactical discussion, and made full preparations for the competition process and contingency plans. After a fierce competition, both two teams composed of Lian Yanlan, Lin Jiating and Mai Yingying and of Zeng Leru, Pan Guifang and Lin Xiaowen respectively won the first prize.
